DIEMERT RANCH HEREFORDS - BP BIG RAMBO 249Y (19064726)

In the Fall of 1989 we scouted Canada for prospects and noticed that everywhere we stopped we liked the 96 Standard Adv 81N or "Andy" daughters and grand-daughters. So we tried to buy Andy and they told us they would never sell him. So we did the next best thing. We went to see 81N's mom and while we were at Anderson's in Saskatchewan we bought a direct son of 81N, 96 Standard 50Y. We then went to Bar Pipe Farm's sale in Alberta and purchased two grandsons of 81N; BP 4S Commander 231Y and BP Big Rambo 249Y. 249Y was the heaviest and best bull calf in the sale offering that day and was our first choice of all the bulls in Canada that year. The 81N sons and grandsons were and continue to be some of the favorites of the commercial man and his grand-daughters, well, everybody has some dang good ones. We sold more bulls out of Rambo than any other Herd Sire ever used on our place. Rambo bred forty some cows at 10 years of age and still had the neighbors gawking over him. He was sure footed and like any other Herd bull here never had his feet messed with and he could out-walk any horse around. Rambo didn't excel in any one trait but he covered them all as well as any in the breed. Rambo's daughters are the kind we like - broody cows with plain old do-ability. Rambo is on the 2006 AHA Proven Sires List.
